His first blog - confirmed his Sunday show will launch in the Spring:

I'd be very surprised if any revamped titles or set moved too far away from the main brand, and in a way disappointed. If there are any tweaks to the other bulletins I really hope they're not just for the sake of it - this is easily the best look ITV News has had in a long time and I hope they ruin it by needless meddling.

P.S. Any news on The Agenda - has it been axed now Tom is on the Ten?

People should note the cover photo of Peston's Facebook page - implies there won't be HUGE changes to the title sequence.

It doesn't imply anything!

Is he down as Robert Preston; I cannot find him?

Robert Peston, not Preston. Easy mistake to make, Robert Preston is a Coronation Street character

Thank you Smile Found it now.

I would read nothing into the cover photo on the Facebook page. He is probably waiting until the new-look then he'll change it.

You could just link to the page directly, of course.

Thanks for the compliments on the mock studio I did but please don't get your hopes up - you'll only be disappointed and wanting News at Ten to be axed all over again when it turns out the 'new titles' are merely tweaks to the current ones, and certainly not a return of the 2008 sequence.

Are you really saying Robert Peston mocked up his own Westminster version of the ITV News titles to use as his Facebook cover photo for a few days? What nonsense.

Bizarre if it is a stil from the new NAT titles. Too bright, they could at least use darker squares and look more night timey. I'm hoping it's not anything to read into.

I agree with Brekkie, I hope the revamped set and titles don't deviate too far away from the brand. I do however hope both are darker in colour and use the London skyline again.

The forum tradition of reading too much into nothing still going strong in 2016 then.

I think this is probably the political version of the 'ITV News Entertainment' cover image, used for @ITVEntsNews on twitter. One would presume should it be for NaT, it would show the clock face at 10pm, or at least be a nighttime image.

It's not as if that cover photo was knocked-up by an Assistant News Ed on their lunchbreak. Clearly it's something that's been designed in mind for the current ITV News look (unless someone can point out that it's been used elsewhere in the past). Nobody said that it's a still from the new title sequence, simply it's an indication that we shouldn't expect a revolutionary change.

Can't breathe on this forum sometimes without being barked at...

Tell me about it.

They have graphics for more than just the purposes of title sequence though - suspect they have a folder of images people can use as background or for social image and he just opted for one with Westminster on.
