Alongside Lord Alistair, I think Ranvir is ITV News' best newsreader/presenter

I prefer Mary Nightingale if I'm honest. But I do agree that Ranvir is a very competent news presenter.

Charlene presented the late London bulletin tonight, so seems they're easing her back in slowly.

Great to see Charlene back, I like the way she makes you feel at ease and that cracking smile and cheeky delivery 👍

I think Mary/ Ranvir and Nina are the best for myself. Not keen on Alistair anymore (used to be a big fan), Charlene or Tom.

Surprised Faye Barker hasn’t progressed more. Thought when she moved from Calendar, she’d be on the way up.

A random question in the midst of whatever was being discussed here, but is the initial camera shot after the titles to the ITV News pre-recorded? I've spotted quite a few times that the presenter is looking in another direction when the wide shot cuts to the mid-close up.

Rather surprisingly, Lucrezia Millarini is on ITV Lunchtime News duty today.

Was expecting one of the major names to be on standby.

She was on duty when the second child was born:

Yes, the whole bongs sequence is pre-recorded up to and including the voice over after the titles. The first live element is when the presenter says hello. The exception to this is the Evening News which has a live bongs sequence. This is due to the fact that London Tonight buts up to the start from the same studio/control room, making pre-recording impossible. I have also known them to pre-record the postcom sequence as well at times. Oh and the last section of London Tonight is usually pre-recorded to let the crew change over before the Evening News.

There is a clip of Mary Nightingale in the ITV News studio, keeping quiet as ITV News London end their recorded ending of their news programme - here is the clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oK2Jqj23m80

I don't often watch the Evening News, but happen to be watching tonight - does the CSO always look this dodgy? When Mary Nightingale interviewed Rohit Kachroo about the Skripal story, you could see what looked like static in the reflections on the desk glass; and during close-ups of Mary, it looks like there is an aura surrounding her hair.

That's just her natural aura.
