Whoops the 6.15pm opt out for the headlines in the east failed as we started for about 2 seconds of a reporter, I think in a shop. Sound dropped and we saw a picture of a man, sound sort of faded up and down within another second or two before no sound at all for the rest of the op out.

Edit: I get the feeling we have another full split with during the opening there were mentions of locations, I think the introduction of the programme was something like, 'Welcome to BBC Look East with the News in Norfolk Suffolk & Essex', I may be wrong as I wasn't giving my full attention.

Correct, there was a full split this evening. Fairly predictable in some respects as today is the last day of analogue from the Sandy Heath transmitter. It included a report from the outside the transmitter as well as footage of inside the building.

Shame I didn't see any reference on the Full Norwich programme, but as I said I didn't give my full attention tonight. But glad that was the region, good choice! Who presented?

Jonathan Park and Janine Machin were the presenters on the fully split West programme from Cambridge.

And on the East programme from Norwich there was a brief mention of the Sandy Heath transmitter's analogue shutdown in the 'Close Up' segment.

I get my signal (analogue and digital) from Sudbury and noticed that on the same day that Sandy Heath analogue was switched off, I started getting the 10:30pm slot from Cambridge on digital, but still get the Norwich output on analogue.

Does anyone know if this is part of a big plan to bias Sudbury to the west of the region for digital reception.

It's not a big deal for me personally, because according to the reception estimates I can take my pick from Tacolneston, Sudbury or Sandy Heath - although Tacolneston is the recommended transmitter.

Are you sure that your TV hasn't performed an autotune, and found the new high power version of Mux 1 from Sandy ?

I did retune my box, but that was only because my other half told me that her 'Create and Craft' channel had moved. This represented a major incident and had to be addressed immediately. Smile

It did cross my mind that I might now be tuned in to Sandy, but I thought that would be impossible since my aerial is pointing at Sudbury. Sandy is nearly twice as far from me as Sudbury. However, I'm not an expert in these sort of things.

I might try and find out the frequency of the MUX1 I'm tuned into and work out whether it's Sudbury or Sandy.

I checked my tuning and am definitely still tuned to Sudbury (not Sandy). I think I'll get myself a new aerial and point it at Talconeston.

It's the sofa from the 2008 Beijing Olympics coverage I think?
