Interesting start to Anglia Tonight today. Pre-titles, it was 'Welcome to Anglia Tonight. Coming up...' The titles then played out. Sounded like they were recording a link by mistake, instead of introducing the programme.

Nothing out of the ordinary just a different way of delivering the headlines. ITV Tyne Tees did it in a few clips I've watched.

Really? Seems very odd, to me, at least. There's a 15 second gap for titles between the 'Coming up', and the actual headlines. It seemed very odd.

Either way, it's one of the few occasions that they've changed what they say at the start of the programme. Usually, it's:

Jonatahan: This, is Anglia Tonight.
Becky: The news where you live, here on ITV

is itv regional news ever pre-recorded?

I caught an edition of anglia tonight (the evening bulletin at 6) and there were a few edits/cuts which seemed a bit 'off' to me, making me think it had been pre-recorded very close to air and hacked together.

it really is a soulless programme now.

I think the 'local' bit about 10 minutes in is still recorded beforehand. Apart from that it is live as they have referenced stories happening/breaking as they come on air over the past few weeks.

Why is it that every time I tune in to BBC Look East there is someone I've never seen before present either the news or weather?

I watch BBC North West Today/Tonight where we have a smaller, more regular rota so am not used to watching it until recently, but why the inconsistent, large amount of presenters? I suppose it's very confusing for the viewer

I know, unless I've seen the same person presenting every day for the last 20 years, I don't know whether to believe a word that comes out of their mouth.

Luckily Stuart's been there for over 27 years now, so I do believe him.
