The only consistently left-wing outlet I can think of is a small, non-commercial operation known as Link TV; its programming promotes progressive activism, and it tends to be critical of big business, military interventions, globalization, the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, etc.:

Which isn't long really (on either count). I think the only way in which Fox News can realign itself would be if Trump wins and they become critical of the administration. If Clinton wins there's no way they will switch sides.

The crucial point Lachlan misses is that many of the Fox News presenters have actually been 'outed' recently as not being as outspoken or right wing as they led the viewers to believe. What has hammered home a consistent populist, right-wing tone for the channel was the man at the top enforcing it with an iron fist. He's gone now. The station will drift, messages will get confused and some presenters will walk. It's not going to be an easy ride, although I think Lachlan (or at least his PR people) realises this, which is why he's already doing the damage limitation media outreach work.
