I see CNNI is currently airing a live House judiciary Committee meeting about the Trump Impeachment. Having watched CNNI over the last few weeks, while it's obviously highly unlikely I wouldn't be totally shocked if they stuck with it until it finished rather than going to UK election coverage before 10pm like the schedule suggests.
Last night was a great example - they brought in both Cyril and Isa the day before the election only to boot them off air after half an hour to simulcast a Committee meeting for reasons I'm not quite sure of.
Its definitely going ahead at 10.00. They aren't going to skip it for a US simulcast.
I did say it was highly unlikely, emphasis on the highly there.
And they did leave the coverage when they said they would. Even having a bit of time for an international news update with Robyn Curnow.
Dave Briggs, co-anchor of Early Start, is leaving that show and I assume CNN as well. His good-buy on Friday was quite vague so I'm not sure where he's off to or who, if anyone, will replace him on Early Start.
I suspect Dave Briggs is sick of presenting a show at 4 in the morning. A post on his twitter account yesterday says that he had 1.30 alarm calls meaning he was effectively up all night every night during the week. There’s only so long you can do that before cracking up. The same Twitter post suggests he is leaving CNN as well.

That may be the case for Dave Briggs, but there are presenters who love doing nights and have done so for many years.
I can't find CNNI's holiday schedule online but it seems like all of the shows have already switched to CNN Newsroom branding with Quest already in London doing his traditional Christmas presenting.
As per Bianca Nobilo's twitter The Brief will air tonight, though for the last time this year
For anyone watching CNN today, I’ll be filling in at 7pm GMT & then doing the Brief @ 10pm. If that’s too much of a good thing for anyone...fear not, The Brief & I won’t be back until 6th January.
First time I've known CNNI do this though. Normally some of the branded shows remain on the normal weekdays over Christmas/New Year, and sometimes on Boxing Day and New Years Day as well. Though there is never much content differentiation between the shows over this time of year. (Richard Quest's Christmas Crackers on Christmas Day excepted)
I'm enjoying this London Newsroom line-up today, a bit more straight-forward news bulletins and nice variety of backgrounds. Richard and Bianca are alternating now.

He was underused at CNN. Never given a chance to present any other show that Early Start. Sad loss in my books.
Business programming has returned today, as has Hala Gorani Tonight and according to the cnn.com schedule so will Your World Today. Only change to normal as per cnn.com is CNN Newsroom replacing Connect the World and The Brief. Reduced schedule again tomorrow and Wednesday for New Year.
