Yes. He's already been there for a month or so, doing the show from NY or Atlanta.

I guess on Sept 9, it will start officially with full set being used (so far it was only one camera shot )

It's the same studio / set as New Day isn't it? Looks lovely...

Yes and it's such a great surprise!!!! Very Happy I never saw it coming cause I thought this set is off limits to CNNI (as all fancy domestic sets seem to be). I thought they will use the new CNN Money mini set or maybe their main NY set.

CNN is having a really great rolling coverage of the Philippines typhoon last 3 days. They have a bunch of Hong Kong presenters and reporters on the ground.

And have cancelled some taped shows for news bulletins which is nice! I watched a few hours of coverage earlier, and would argue they had better coverage than BBC World News.

By the way, ginnyfan, are you too having difficulty accessing cnnfan.org?? I keep getting error messages!

CNN TV getting new graphics in the New Year to unify the brand around the new look CNN.com,

Quote:
The CNN app and CNN TV will see a graphic redesign once the new CNN.com launches, to make the design consistent across all platforms.

Peter Horrocks has tweeted a comment that CNN is going to be showing wildlife documentaries in prime time. There's a link to an article on capital New York .com . Not sure how to copy link on my iPad, but its worth taking a read. Shows how CNN is (in my humble opinion) destroying itself.

That would be like BBC World from launch in 1995 to October 1997 when it showed a documentary or factual programme every night at 2105 CET.

But on a modern news channel, it's not right. It's bad enough flicking through the news channels and finding CNN screening Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown or some Golf or sailing programme at the time of the day when you are expecting a full TOTH World News bulletin. (the 5pm slot is notorious for this).

And someone needs to update the Europe TV schedule on CNN.com - CET is only one hour ahead of GMT in Winter... Confused

But but but, instead of basing an opinion on someone's tweet about an article, it's worth a look to read the article itself.

Yes, the part about running non-news programming during primetime for CNN Domestic is true, and that's pretty clear in the entire article. But what I thought was interesting is Zucker's plans to add more news to CNN International, which has been suffering from a lack of live news in recent years:

Quote:
Zucker said he is in the middle of “reinvigorating” CNN International with more news and more news programs, to replace sponsored content.

So I guess he's still well on his merry way destroying CNN Domestic, but I guess more news on CNNI isn't a bad consolation. What puzzles me is how they're going to do more news on CNNI if Zucker's also reducing a lot of the news staff and resources (most recently in Miami).

I did notice that in the article. Maybe the effects of a lack of news on CNN international have been noticed? Obviously need to remember the tweet that brought me to the article was from a competitor of CNN!

I'd take a well made and interesting Anthony Bourdain doc over Larry king/Piers Morgan tabloid nonsense any day.
