DanielK - yes. However in the 90s many BBC regional news programmes used fixed music, with timelines to create their headlines, with transitions timed to the music. The original BBC national news drumbeat headlines were fixed duration as well (beat counting was useful then...)

WDIV 4 Detroit get a Euro-style make over. Not a speck of wood to be found. Seems like they retained a portion of the old set and simplified the rest. Check the progression from the previous dark looking set to the bright white European style set.

Well it certainly looks as though FOX is finally allowing its O&Os to move away from the crappy mandated sets. FINALLY!!!!!
WFTX-29 Philly is about launch a new street side set and it looks nothing like the net sets launched in Atlanta and Phoenix. The new WFTX set in Philly on first look isnt that great by the way. Thumbs down

Correction, WFTX Fox 4 is a non-O&O Fox station serving Ft Myers/ Naples, Florida. WTXF Fox 29 is the Fox O&O station in Philadelphia. Plus Fox29 has two sets- the streetside studio that has been in use for the morning show "Good Day Philadelphia" and the evening news set.

Yep, that looks fantastic - but no change to the main studio, which now looks even more dated compared with the streetside studio. Hopefully that won't be long for this world...

.....along with the all the other hideous Fox-man dated sets. Emphasis on the "dated". But having said that. Fox Chicago just changed their duratrans behind the anchor desk. So seems unlikely they are going to be getting a new set anytime soon.

Most likely, The other Fox O&O sets will either get that duratran changes or may not get a full new set like their Pheonix, Atlanta and Minneapolis-St. Paul sister stations or may even get them years later. For example, the New York station WNYW has the oldest set in the market (introduced in 2006) after every other station in town having erected new ones during the 2011-13 years.

So much so that even the anchors are joking about the need for a new set, apparently...

WBBH 2 - Fort Meyers,FL - Debuts new logo and new set and new newsroom.
This set is designed by Devlin and in the vein of the new Fox sets that have been popping up everywhere, though this is an NBC affiliate.
Here is a full video tour. Its a messy, sloppy, badly produced tour, but a full tour of small station in SW Florida with a lot of money to spend. The blue wall slides away to reveal the newsroom. In the clip below you see the walls change colours and the anchor slides open the wall to reveal the new spacious newsroom.

KMGH 7-Denver Debuted last night. (Man these new sets are coming thick and fast.)
Apparently this Devlin set has not a desk or "pod" area to speak of, aside from the weather centre. The presenters stand the entire time and if they need to sit, say for breaking news, a portable desk is wheeled in. It features a sizable video wall and those colour changing walls that has been the signature of the Devlin sets which are quite versatile for change the set for different dayparts or breaking news.

I love the presenters still are one of the few stations in the country that proudly still wear the modified Circle-7 pins. Amazing!
