Jackie Bird was just "hours from death" last week, according to the Daily Record. The presenter was rushed into hospital with a rare bowel condition.

Get well soon, Jackie.

I doubt it - they were saying it was touch and go as to whether she would make her Hogmany hosting duties but she is aiming to be back for it.
Also, at the bottom of the link it says they are 'playing it by ear'

So Reporting Scotland started to be broadcast in HD on Monday 14th January.

The studio shots and the live astons were HD, everything else was SD AFAICS, no surprise really. The astons during the news roundup were SD, Titles looked as they were before.

Scruffy? How can you even suggest that a programme which once featured the great Mary Marquis could be even remotely scruffy???? Smile

A belated Happy New Year to you, Gavin.

Aye, and to you.

Mary made an appearance the other week on the BBC Scotland documentary about Scottish viewing habits and programming. They talked about how she was a well known face as an interviewer before she ended up hosting the news, and she appeared in vision to discuss it.

She looks almost exactly the same, give or take a crowsfoot.

I might have TiVo'd it. If I did I'll upload a snapshot.

Anyway, I had a lovely wee visit to PQ last month. There's a bit of stoor in the studio but its nothing to how dusty my own bookshelfs are.

A whole newsnight given over to newsnight Scotland tonight. I would rather see the UK programme. They've updated the Scottish titles finally I see in line with newsnight normal.
