Jackie Bird?

Sally Magnuson always does Thursday/Friday with Jackie doing Mon/Tue/Wed.

Except when Catriona Shearer or (rarely) David Henderson present.

Talking of presenters, what's Sally McNair up to now? I've not seen her for a while.

She presents the weekend bulletins now and then, as well as the Breakfast updates.

About a month ago I remember seeing Sally McNair doing a 6.30 weekday reporting Scotland. I remember thinking at the time I hadn't seen her doing the full main programme before.

Andrew Kerr presenting the 1.30 bulletin today. He does the Politics Scotland programming, but I haven't seen him on a main bulletin before.

I thought I caught something strange on Reporting Scotland last week, presented by Sally Magnusson.

They had just gone over LIVE to a reporter called Caroline Renton (I think) at Queen Street Station in Glasgow, reporting on the new Scotrail ruling about alcohol consumption on trains.

She ended her piece, and handed back to Sally in the studio. Sally proceeded to read the next story, which was about a guy now being jailed for several rapes years ago, she voiced the piece herself and a slide was shown on screen of the rapist with a caption of some sort.

Back to Sally for the next story, and before she read it, she said: "no it couldn't be her as she's spent most of the day at Queen Street Station", almost as if she was accidentally replying to something that someone said in her earpiece.

She then continued to read the next story as if nothing had happened.

All bizarre, especially in the context of the rapist story just covered at that juncture.

Is it just me or is there a lot of new reporters on Reporting Scotland recently? I don't watch as much these days but I didn't recognise most of them tonight.

Rhona McLeod was live in a studio overlooking the Olympic Park for Reporting Scotland just after 1830. After the end of her segment, she said that "the whole team" (sport team) from BBC Scotland would be on location covering the Olympics on Reporting Scotland.

At risk of being a bit Daily Mail, I can't really see what the point of having multiple BBC Scotland reporters there will be. I'm not particularly fond of the team, and they all only seem to normally actually care about the Old Firm in Glasgow anyway.

I suppose we'll just get the same sports news regurgitated by them with additional reminders every ten seconds that Scot Andy Murray is Scottish from Dunblane in Scotland, and Scotsman Chris Hoy is also a Scottish Scot proud to be a Scot in Team GB, but never forgetting his Scottish roots despite being in London.

Jackie Bird was just "hours from death" last week, according to the Daily Record. The presenter was rushed into hospital with a rare bowel condition.

Get well soon, Jackie.

Sally McNair presenting tonight...quite rare for her to present the main addition of the programme. She quite often presents the bulletins. She was on last Friday too.
