Can't say i'm pleased with the new presenter refresh. I'm not a fan of Clive, Annita, Joanna or Ben. Also no business news. BBC News is slipping, time to find a new news provider.
I'm not liking the new evening rota either. I miss Chris Eakin - his relaxed style suited the evening slot. Clive is far too serious for latenights. In fact, what's happened to him?
Wasn't overly impressed with Clive last night. The junction after the end of the 10 into the weather and then the start of the papers was a bit of a mess. He stumbled over the headlines on the papers. Hopefully it well get better with time
Martine Dennis doing the 8-12 shift on BBC World now. Has she ever done that shift before?
Well, she used to be the permanent Tuesday-Friday presenter of that shift before David Eades took over from her.
Actually she used to do the shift before that (5 - 8am) aka The World Today.
Actually, David is correct. She presented the 0500-0800 TWT shift between 2001 and 2003. At this time the 0800-1200 shift was Stephen Cole's. But once he left the channel in 2003, Martine took over the 0800-1200 slot and was its main presenter until David Eades got it a year or two later.
Oh, sorry then. I can't remember that. Who took over from her on 5-8 then? Lucy Hockings or David Eades? Both of them did the early shift at one point.
Gosh, that's a toughie. I seem to recall that once Martine left the shift, 2003 was mainly a mixture of Mike Embley, Adrian Finighan, Anita McNaught and David Jessel on the TWT shift. It was certainly rather unpredictable for a while. I think David Eades became its main presenter in 2004. It's quite hard to remember specific details after a decade though. I know that Lucy Hockings didn't take over TWT until much later on - in 2003 she was still a relief weekend presenter at best, but spent most of her time as a producer.
