Pre recording a political debate show in the current climate would be risky wouldn't it? Things are changing so quickly it would be easy for an unforeseen Ministerial resignation to render the whole programme unbroadcastable.
It's a strange climate at the moment - on the one hand you're right, things can change so quickly. On the other thought nothing has bloody changed for ages.
Given most MPs have clocked off by lunchtime on Friday pre-recording on a Friday for broadcast on Saturday is probably less risky than Perston pre-recording a couple of hours early on a Wednesday night.
Big day today. On air for the first time since November. Still... 6 months out of the newsroom... that's been plenty of time to sort #Brexit, right...? See you for @bbcnews at One.
Friday and Saturday are going to be interesting see (whether Jane takes back the reigns on both the Film Review and Dateline London or whether Ben Brown and Carrie Gracie will carry on on both.)
ETA:Actually let me answer the Film review part!
Thank you top man! Looking forward to seeing you in June x

Overwhelmed by so many lovely back-to-work messages. I just want to say that my return wouldn't have been possible without our NHS. Sending love & thanks to the numerous @NHSuk staff who spotted my breast cancer, treated it, and continue to look after me. Thank you all.
Wasn't expecting Hwu on air till Sunday thought he would be rehearsal for election night
He hasn't been on the Five all week until today and only did the Ten last night so has probably had time off this week to compensate.
I notice Reeta Chakrabarti (who I know is also covering election night) hasn't been on for a few weeks. I wonder, once Jane has fully returned to the newsroom, we'll see less of Reeta? Is she still UK affairs correspondent? Another one is Ben Brown who has covered extensively on the One and Five in Jane's absence - no doubt we'll see less of him too.

We saw plenty of Reeta when Jane was on previously (although admittingly in George's absence), I reckon she'll start alternating Saturday's with Kate again, or this could be a good way to ease Jane back in.

Kate has done the vast majority of Saturdays since she returned to the newsroom and I can't see that changing unless she is returning to at least semi-regular weekday work. Ben Brown is likely to end up covering the evening shift on the news channel going forward. Reeta will probably still do a couple of days a week on the one and quite possibly cover on the newschannel (quite possibly afternoon live on Fridays as she was doing semi regularly before Jane went on leave).
Katty Kay is on msnbc right now aside from her usual shift of coanchoring Morning Joe. She was introduced as BBC World News Anchor and NBC/MSNBC contributor. The latter title is the first time I’ve heard it.
