Nope, that was definitely Vicki Young who presented that shift in late October and the only time she’s presented that particular shift until one day last week. Eleanor’s first shift was definitely on Friday!

In that case, Garnier must have done one of the reporting shifts from E.

It’s actually against the law for a worker in this country to not have a minimum of an 11 hour break between shifts.

With a number of exceptions and exemptions with compensatory rest.

Any employee can opt out of the working time agreement.

That is to do with weekly working hours, and that also has exceptions as to who can opt out.

Nope, she did a shift in late October 2017.

Maybe your confusing her with Vicki Young?

She def presented before, it was a Newsroom Live/VD shift when Joanna Gosling wasn't being offered any shifts. Vicki Young has covered numerous times, which is why I can tell the difference between the two!

I can't remember Eleanor Garnier covering a shift as a presenter, not this recently anyway. I've looked at the "BBC News Fix" website for October 2017 to try to resolve this and, indeed, Eleanor is not there at all. There's lots of Annita McVeighs and there's also a Tim Willcox & Vicki Young but no Eleanors. As you insist you didn't see Vicki Young, I can only conclude it actually was Vicki Young or it wasn't in October 2017. I don't think Vicki has covered "numerous" times, that is of Newsroom Live as opposed to the evening shift and weekend shifts in more recent years - I think probably she's covered one or two or maybe slightly more than that - I wouldn't call it "numerous" but I'd have to check via the News Fix website to see whether that is the case. AFAIK, the BBC News Fix website is a contemporaneous record, recorded on the day of the broadcasting, or certainly within 24 hours of that, like this forum sometimes is as well, and it would accurately record Eleanor Garnier if she had been the presenter. It does show her for last Friday.

Not strictly BBC News I suppose, but Emma Barnett was brilliant standing in for Andrew Marr this morning. When the next vacancy comes up on this, Sunday Politics or even Question Time, she should be the one to fill it.

In full agreement there. It frustrated me when she co-presented Sunday Morning Live last year that she was relegated to the sidekick role for Sean Fletcher, when she's perfectly capable of presenting on her own.

She also presented the ITN-produced "After the News" late night political discussion show on ITV last year and was the better of the presenters (Nick Ferrari being the other). I hope that programme comes back actually, it wasn't too shabby at all given the probably minuscule budget.

Emma was more comfortable with the format than Nick Ferrari.

Elizabeth Glinka covered Daily Politics for Jo Coburn today. Must have been a last minute change as it's unusual for someone who is usually a political reporter on the programme to cover.

Robert Hall presenting this evening on the News Channel, must be a few years since he last popped up?
