Just seen about Jane Hill on the presentation thread and was about to reply but realised THIS was the place to comment...

What has happened to her? Being in work I mostly miss seeing her, but I thought she did co-present with Simon McCoy in the afternoons. So now he's got his own show on his todd, where is she now?

Certainly the BBC's best newsreader in my opinion - a News 24 stalwart, and now what?

News at 5 on Fridays and when Huw is unavailable, News at One when Sophie and Kate are absent, some radio 4 work, Dateline when Shaun Ley is unavailable and very occasionally relief on the News Channel.

We'd love Jane back at World, I'm sure.

Completely agree. I think she'd have suited the Newsroom Live slot well. Let's hope she doesn't jump ship like Sian Williams did.

I quite enjoy Newsroom Live - it's got a nice pace to it and a relaxed afternoon type of presenter.

Matt Barbet from 5 News seems to be making a one off return to the BBC this morning as he seems to be presenting Victoria Derbyshire this morning.

Interesting. I wonder what's happened to Joanna Gosling who would normally stand in for Victoria? She hasn't been on for weeks.

Yeah that's the problem when you suffix shows with the Live tag.... I meant Afternoon Live.

Agree Afternoon live is great, really does show up how poor VD's show is, but I do miss Jane Hill on the NC

I don't think Simon McCoy has missed a shift yet has he.
When was the last time VD did a full week?

I wonder if the situation they found themselves in with Victoria's programme (having a programme named after its presenter who is then absent through illness for a long period) is why it isn't "Afternoon Live with Simon McCoy"
