This went way beyond being not very good. He was dreadful! I couldn't believe someone "upstairs" had seen fit to allow him on air and expose him to a situation he clearly couldn't handle. Plus, isn't the Saturday pm airing a repeat, so they're compounding the mistake by showing a piece of car crash presenting twice. I don't say that lightly - he was really bad, but I feel sorry for him and think he shouldn't have been placed in that position.

The bit at 10:00 is the worst, when introducing the second guest. The guest is more polished than the presenter. A bit embarrassing for the presenter, looks like he was dropped into the deep end with such a show. Should probably have cut their teeth on a business slot that is just autocue reading before anchoring a full show.

That was by far the worst bit.

Cringe worthy. He was actually quite natural when asking the questions but autocue reading was horrendous. I do feel sorry for him though. I'm no expert but if he was a very last minute replacement then well done to him.

We were told when Declan Curry left last week that it would be him - so it was far from last minute & It's not as if its his first appearance on the programme - I'm sure you will be happy to learn that he will be back next week.

Let's hope this poor guy doesn't see this and tweet it like Alastair Stewart has just done.

He will get better, I've not seen the program yet, but give the poor man a break.

I feel sorry for him, having to put himself through that again!

not sure you can compare the two situations. The Alastair Stewart posts were somebody trying to pension him off with no apparent justification, the posts here are a critique of a presenting performance. I would expect most broadcasters to consider reasonable feedback and constructive criticism to go with the territory of a job where you put yourself in front of an an audience.

Constructive? Maybe a couple of sentences in all of the posts put together about him were constructive. But most of the posts about him were just saying how awful he was.

"cringe-worthy", "horrendous', "embarrassing", "beyond not very good", "dreadful", "guest was more polished than the presenter"

Obviously he was bad, but it's kind of been milked now. The point was made, and then again, and again.

I agree with you, it is really useful for presenters to hear constructive feedback, but if that's what people thought they were posting, they were wrong.

I don't think those terms were used in isolation, but with examples and context. The comments were honest, certainly, but not gratuitously nasty.

I didn't see the programme so I can't comment on whether anything more constructive could be added.

If the comments here are a fair reflection of his performance I would hope that there was nothing written here which his producer or editor hasn't already discussed with him.
