Clive Murray never seems to have a day off at the moment.

Makes a change from it always being Clive Myrie, I guess.

Quite a rare occurrence with the duty sports presenter coming out of Sportsday and linking straight into a non-sport related 15 minute report piece about D Day just now. Normally they'd hand back to the duty News channel presenter to do that.

Not that rare is it? Don't Sport often throw to the weather?

Sorry but you can't compare the two. Simply throwing to the weather is slightly different from reading a script recalling the D Day commemorations last week and introducing Simon McCoy and the veteran.

Well at 15-minutes they're linking to more than a standard news report and logically that makes a lot of sense rather than getting a newsreader in for a minute.

Considering the sports news requires an autocue any of the sports people should be more than capable of reading a couple of sentences from autocue on just about any topic.

Jeez. I was just commenting on it being a rare occurrence. Didn't realise it required a post mortem as well. Rolling Eyes

What are the logistics of this kind of thing? Are the autocues independent or are Sport working off the same overall script?

Sports presenter quite often hands over the The Film Review, was this on in place of that in one slot?
