Looking back on iPlayer rewind, a short edition of Reporters was shown at 23:25 and The Papers followed straight away at 23:35. The Film Review was on at the normal time.
Must say Chris' filling in to cover the technical issues before Reporters was very good - I'm picturing the Cathy Newman technical issues moment...
I assume they cut Reporters short to go to a paper review. I didn't watch the whole thing through. Did the film review get to air?

Judging by the trundle cam's rather static and odd position, could it have been that which threw everything else into spasm. I seem to recall the trundle cam failing in the past causing some odd technical problems?

Yes it seems to have that effect. Last time it happened it required as studio change , something which is probably to much effort for that time in the evening.
