That would be good, because then you have the choice between a breakfast programme and a morning newscast, although TWT format, opening etc would have to be reinstated to make it worth the simulcast.
I think he means scrapping the news channel simulcast of Breakfast in favour of a simulcast with World.

That's correct. I should have been clearer on that one. Considering the availability of world news on Freeview with AJE and RT, a World news alternative to Breakfast between 0600-0830 with domestic headlines during World breaks would be a viable alternative.

Only the BBC News at One is signed on the NC, the Six & Ten however aren’t.
Don't they put the signed BBC One bulletins on the NC? Surely that is a valuable service for those who need it?

I'm pretty sure he is talking about showing more of World's reports and not their actual programmes. This coincides with Newsnight dropping their second Foreign reporter in favour of using more of BBC World's reports. Yalda Hakim's reports have popped up regularly on Newsnight in the last few months.

Maybe, but the morning Breakfast simulcast is really the odd man out on BBC News Channel, it looks really out of place, where as having "The World Today" until 8am, and having the News Channel switch on at 8am rather than 8.30ish. It would give viewers the choice of a popular breakfast show on BBC1, or serious international news on the BBC News Channel.

Is there really an appetite for 'world news' on a domestic NC first thing in the morning, a slot that generally sets the agenda for the day ahead. The majority of your domestic viewers are interested in domestic news or major International stories reported on from a UK angle. Breakfast does that.

Then they can continue to watch Breakfast on BBC One.

Nobody outside this forum I bet. His comments are being misrepresented imo.
Then they can continue to watch Breakfast on BBC One.
People tuning into the BBC NC channel will be expecting the latest national news. It's not going to happen imho.
