Shaun was one of my absolute favourite people to work with at the BBC (back in my Radio 4 days), and this omnishambles proved a great testament to his warmth, wit and professionalism.

Seemed a brilliant way of telling audiences what really happened without going into to much detail, as that would not have been needed.

Is he a regular to Friday evenings?

Great explanation from him, I like this guy not seen him around before myself.

Before Mark Mardell came back from Washington, Shaun was Martha Kearney's main dep on "The World at One", as well as being the regular presenter of its Friday and Sunday editions.

Shaun Ley is a great newsreader- copes well with news channel and it's faults!

I remember the first time I saw him on Newsroom Southeast, possibly his first time as he seemed very nervous.

The thing that made it memorable were his almost unnaturally blue eyes. Looked very odd

More news channel hiccups this morning - it's currently frozen on the Breakfast endcap. They've missed the 10am TOTH.

EDIT: And they've conked back in at 10:04 mid report and now live to a reporter with Nicholas Owen, apparently unaware they were off air. Nicholas has just acknowledged that they were off air and they're starting the first report again it seems. They're still missing the on screen graphics though.

Back at 10:04, but cut in mid interview from Moscow. Like as if they hadn't even realised that they weren't live.

The 10:30 sting was using the recorded trundle cam that normally is used for the 17:30 sting when from Studio C. Also no BBC box.

And using recorded trundle footage again for the 11 o'clock TOTH.

Oh we KNEW we wern't on air ! Smile but as the tech bods were desperatly trying to put back links - we could have been back on at any point, so best to press on and apologise when first able to.
Hopefully all ok now. Apols for the disruption.
