The same strap error happened again during Chris Slegg's piece. The first strap was normal, then this happened.

It's an error. Teething problems getting use to using Mosart and VizRT for lower thirds. They used Aston in the old studio.

As the London gallery gets upgraded, will they transition to Mosart and VizRT? I know one insider (sorry, I forget who) said they expected the gallery to be more closely aligned to the main news galleries' modern standards, but I wasn't sure how far that would go.

Also, do you think anything will ever come of previous suggestions that London's studio (and presumably set if they're sticking with the plasmas) would be one of the 'bases' that could be used by other services when London weren't using it? With careful planning (and design) I could imagine the current set being used as a plan-B for Hardtalk if Studio A wasn't available (it look a great deal better than Millbank does, though AIUI Millbank is primarily used for Hardtalk because of guest availability rather than TVC/BH studio unavailability). Equally Meet the Author or similar interview programmes could probably make do with recording there if needed, though obviously the studio and set space (and surely facilities) is inadequate for a main service like NC, World or Arabic?

I wonder what would have happened to London news had that Murray QF match dragged up until 9pm

Wendy "roll eyes" Hurrell with the evening forecast from the studio rather than the All England Tennis Club. Possibly the crane camera for Peter Cockroft may have not been avaliable?

the camera was a bit too close today as the weather graphics were too small and you couldnt see it properly

Correct. The standard BBC News (inc regions) gallery from now on is a Mosart controlled system along with a Calrec Artemis sound desk. BBC London are getting this in their refurbished gallery.

This is the plan. The days of dedicated studios for services are over, especially in a building as busy as NBH. Yes, BBC London will be the primary tennent, but if needed, D will be used for anyone else who needs it when available.

No, A is the home for Hardtalk. Millbank is used very occasionally nowadays.

A nice bit of variation this evening with an end shot of NBH, instead of the usual BBC London titles as a close.

Incredibly striking at nighttime with the lighting!

(Better late than never)

Thanks for your answers! Would have thought, if studio D could be used by any service, a standing set with a standard desk - or that could easily bring one in - would make sense. I might be dreaming, but wasn't the oval height-adjustable desk for their temporary Olympics studio ultimately meant for London? That, or something like that, would obviously work very well.

Also sorry if I was unclear about Hardtalk - I meant Millbank tends to be used, when it is used, because it works better for guests' schedules rather than because of studio availability. I wasn't meaning they primarily use Millbank, if you see what I mean.

That does look nice, though am I the only one who thinks BBC News branding seems odd on a regional programme? It could at least be secon to a BBC london one?

I don't think that Studio A is the home of HardTALK either anymore - recently they just seem to be using C instead, meaning that we've finally seemingly seen the last of a TVC studio (whether real or virtual)!

That night shot would be a great closing shot for the Ten

BBC London appear to have suddenly remembered they serve Surrey and NE Hants with two stories. One about the Surrey elected police commissioner and a story from Fleet pooled from South Today.
