There is some confusion, the Helicopter shot was used to replace talking heads .

WTF's wrong with having talking heads on screen ? Is the programme director's attention span as low as he imagines the viewer's is ?

If you track back, I am not justifying the shot, just making clear how it was used, not it's use, following questioning of my original report.

I'm well aware you're not justifying it DVB-C, I'm sorry if you interpreted my post as 'messenger shooting' Cool

I know this is playing fast and loose with "presentation and branding" but surely if the BBC now kowtows to the govenment and changes its mind on Entwistle's severance pay it will be criticised for not being independent.

Better they tell the government and MP's to 'Get Lost and stop interfering in BBC internal affairs' in order to show that they are asserting their independence and that new leadership is in place.

Acting BBC DG Tim Davie ends his interview with Sky News by walking off..

Good start for the new DG, make your own headlines. Rolling Eyes Who's the guy giving him direction, someone clearly tells him to wrap it up.

BBC is really dealing with all of this in a shockingly messy way. Shocked Confused

He's only been in the job a couple of days and it feels like the press are already after his head, and having seen the pay off George Entwhistle is getting Tim Davie is probably thinking he'll do it for a couple of weeks then walk away with a nice big fat cheque.

The press would hate it but this matter can not be resolved by BBC folk going around talking to the press - they kind of need to go into lockdown to get a grip of it.

I absolutely agree, this washing the dirty laundry in public is not really the way to go about it.

As ever there's nothing more the media and journalists love, than reporting conflict about themselves and their peers.

Meanwhile the core of the issue, as now been totally swept aside and forgotten, but what else would you really expect from self serving journalists ?
