It's double standards. They let Piers Morgan get away with murder by saying what he feels like every morning and not caring who he upsets, yet Alastair Stewart, a consummate highly regarded professional for over 4 decades, who has never put a toe wrong, has to go after one comment.
Whatever this is about, there is a certain irony in all of this given late last year Stewart gave his opinion on what Kay Burley and other journalists should and should not say on social media for fear of losing their credibility.

Unexpected though!
Racial comments (as what it might be) always more sensitive.
Same here I was shocked to see it scrolling across the sky news ticker. I would not have been at all surprised to see him leave this year as his duties have been reduced over the last few months but not like this. Seems like an over reaction whatever he's done as people are saying the ape tweet was from 2018 so it can't be that

It was earlier this month on the 13th January I believe.
Very sad about the departure of #AlastairStewart. He was a good friend and mentor to me when I started at Carlton TV, and we worked together for more than 27 years. I will miss him.
