When Terestrial Finishes

These are the first mocks I have done in a while. I thought came to mind where everywhere was digital and no terestrial. Whats the point in terestrial when 99% of the public are digital (I'm talking about 2006) so I created these captions to break the news.

I'm not seeing these - just images saying "Redrival free web hosting".

Ignoring that the complete disregard to safe areas, etc etc... the list goes on.

It was worth a shot. I'll try better next time.

I am happy with 1-4, but I am not too sure about Channel 5.

As these would only be going out on analogue surely they would be 4:3?

These captions would be done on the cheap I would bet. Each main transmitter has a very rudimentary character generator which produces an apology caption on ITV and C4 should the incoming programme feed be lost and backups fail and there's nothing else to show.

I would have thought that this would be used to generate any caption about analogue having been switched off, because it's not worth setting up split pres facilities just for one caption, and it wouldn't be worth installing new kit at the transmitter sites for the same reason. Also means that the distribution links can be decommissioned saving costs.

Therefore I think we'll see something more like this:

Nice, but I think you are confusing terrestrial with analogue. It is the analogue signal that will be closing down, terrestrial TV is something else all together.
