I don't like that they now have more-or-less the same skyline view (Belfast City Hall et al) repeated on both the monitor and "window" behind it. Giant's Causeway on the monitor was a better choice IMHO.

It's not linked. UTV have been upgrading their CSO studio for a while now.
Not too sure if this was linked but UTV changed their CSO GMB bulletin studio look from the first day the ITV deal went through and appear to have keyed in the monitor. Below are comparison pics with the bottom being the latest.

I think it'll be nice for us in NI to get the ITV hub on YouView with full ITV content. We can only see ITV2,3 and 4 content currently 
Hopefully if we do get ITV hub we'll see it on our YouView boxes like England do. Fingers Crossed.

Yep - I've often found the ITV Player much faster. It's so much more effort to maintain a local player - it'll be stripped away I reckon.
A common word used in business is "standardize" and another is "simplify" - stripping away the UTV player would meet both of those aims for sure.

Technically I guess they could do that tomorrow. The itv network content which we can't get on Youview here in NI is presumably just a geo-block based on postcode or IP info. They could just turn the geo-block off. What are they waiting for?

They only have management control for a week - they'll take their time and not rush into anything. Particularly the long term fate of UTV Ireland will need to be decided, as right now it is integrated with UTV in Belfast to some extent, including (quite importantly) it's playout.

Incidentally, ITV has surrendered most of its regional trademarks so no longer owns them. I believe the Carlton brand was sold along with Carlton Screen Advertising.

Great T shirt but it's a shame the ATV logo was printed back to front.The small arm of the letter A was always on the left and not the right. Also with the 'V', the fatter arm of the V was always on the left and not on the right. - Not that I'm being picky of course!
ITV also own the brands for Granada, Carlton, Anglia, Border etc; it doesn't use them.
