I like most of this, but I think the 5USA idents are stunning. Properly high quality. Love it - can't wait to see it all on screen.

There are a couple more Channel 5 bumpers than the ones shown here, and they're not always purple/blue. I do really like 5USA's True Detective-style idents. 5Star's bumpers are lighter during daytime and darker in the evening. Lots to enjoy, just a couple of days to go.

Always 17 seconds long, Channel 5 idents, not sure why. It's the way it currently is and the way it will be with these new ones.

I hope they make the '5 HD' DOG smaller. No need for it to be as big as the SD version.

I like, looks very professional for Channel 5 but I think that's the move they wanted.

From what I've seen, 5 USA's look is beautiful. Looks really nice and will no doubt look great on screen. The only problem is that those trailers are in HD, but when seen in crappy compressed SD on Freeview/Sky they will lose a bit of their wonder.

Not seen anything of 5 Star yet in terms of idents so that will be interesting to see. The main Channel 5 idents should have the logo in there somewhere. Not entirely sold on the '5 things at the same time' is strong enough a brand image to last them years with and could get tired very soon. They all seem to be 17 seconds long, so I'm assuming they are longer than that, and these are examples. Otherwise, the CA's are gonna have to talk very fast before a programme starts!

Not fussed on the My 5 logo, especially the way the 'M' and 'y' join up.

Spike now looks out of place compared to the others with their matching logos.

I wonder what the end of a programme trailer looks like now for all the channels. A picture of the show with text or just a plain screen with text and 5 logo.

The website needs killed with fire and started again. I really hope they completely start from scratch with it instead of slapping new logos on the old design. I guess we will find out on Thursday morning.

How long after the new look debuts do you think it will take for someone to complain about the DOG being too big, too bright and too in from the corners? (Hopefully they fix the position of it for 4:3 programmes/films).

They had them perfectly in the corner for 5 USA and 5*. It would be a shame if they didn't keep the settings and just change the image, and made sure Channel 5's matched. Methinks they will not and everything will be made worse.

Probably a couple of minutes. I'm sure channels deliberately do it so when they fade it down it looks like they've listened and it doesn't look too bad in comparison.

The logo reminds me of Channel 7 Australia.

The logo reminds me of Channel 7 Australia.

We get it, number based logos often remind us of other number based logos it's even more true when it's the same number.

Thank goodness there's another soul that shares my bewilderment that none of the producers of tv graphics have any concept of what viewers will actually see on their sets at home.

By all means have the fanciest graphics and video you can throw at your clients, but it will still look sh it on 544x576 compressed Freeview.
PFML84, orange and VMPhil gave kudos

It's the "ribbon" effect I think.

Definitely no 5 News revamp this week apparently. Just the new '5' on the titles and captions

They look very professional. The bird one reminds me of the galah bumpers/trailers when Neighbours launched on the channel on 11th February 2008
