Surely the most important question is whether this is the first Channel 5 logo that won't be in a circle! Wink

What about the 2002 logo?

Both of the logos that use a 5 numeral so far have been encased in a circle (as well as the 2008 FIVE logo)

What if they do the unthinkable and drop the DOG completely for the main channel? Surprised

I'll come back to the real world, now.

5USA haven't really changed much since it was Five US, I suspect it'll be drips and drabs, IIRC 5USA didn't rebrand after the 2008 rebrand until a few months later.

You're right. "five" became "FIVE" in October 2008, and Five US became Five USA in February 2009 with the new "FIVE" logo.

I still prefer the very first logo, especially when the circle itself was in a square like this...

Not as good outside the square and the colour bar graphics looked naff even at the time...

The first channel 5 logo actually had 2 outer rings, they changed it before launch though. It did appear on some of the retuning lealets they sent out and some early test transmissions.

Changed by the time test transmissions appeared in February 1997.
