Northern Ireland and Wales also use the 2011 - 2012 trail design, albeit only for locally-produced trails.
Interestingly, the same (and outdated) design is still being used for 'coming up' and Sign Zone graphics. I would have thought that they would produce new ones based on the current trail design.
The BBC2 idents look
so good
in HD, probably the first set I'm genuinely not disappointed to see reappear year after year. Yes, something new would be nice but the standard of production and attention to the minutest detail makes these idents something a bit special.
If only this could be matched for the other 48 weeks of the year.
Did anyone see tonight's trails on BBC2? Instead of the standard announcer narration, they had Gareth Malone's choir singing the programme times etc. They even sang the tune for the ident! Obviously this was all to promote the new series of The Choir- New Military Wives. Nice touch, I thought and it's not often you hear an ident sung these days!
Odd wording on the promo for The Boy In The Dress just now, I thought:
"David Walliams returns, in all-star comedy..."
I wasn't aware he'd gone anywhere.
The CA just before over the Eastenders credits sounded a bit stilted as well - how long have the little BBC One/BBC Two slides been fading in on the right, forcing the CA to leave an unnatural gap while he waits for them to show up?

David Walliams is a name in comedy so the wording is quite correct.
As far as the fading in, been going since the launch of the Xmas presentation.
BBC TWO Northern Ireland are reshowing the retro Christmas idents that were used last year (the 1979 and 1984 idents). The former was shown at 16.40 before
Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em.
