To add to the missing Monday 7th Lunchtime News debate ......
Asked Alastair Stewart on Twitter
@alstewitn When was the last weekday that @itvnews dropped it's lunchtime bulletin? Can't recall myself.
He replied
Nor I, to be frank!.
If he doesn't know then it's pretty unique.

How often does a royal correspondent report? He gets paid as a correspondent so if he's not been up to much recently then there's no reason why he shouldn't.
Tim Ewart's twitter account states that he is Royal Editor. He has just reported on the two men who admitted to wanting to carry out terrorist attack. Has he also been promoted to UK editor replacing Lucy Manning?

It's pretty common for the Royal Editor or Correspondent to report on other stuff or do newsreading at times when the Royals aren't doing anything worth reporting on. Nicholas Owen used to be one of the main newsreaders while not reporting on Royal matters, much like Jennie Bond at the BBC and Nick Witchell who regularly pops up reporting on non royal stories.

Regions are going to be pushing way past midnight again tonight. Currently scheduled for about 00.25 but looks like the match is heading for penalties so could be even later.
This is going to be the last time it happens tonight during the current World Cup. I bet the regions themselves are happy about that.

A producer, called Jess Producer ? You're having a laugh ?
Another member of ITN jumps ship to the BBC, Jess Producer who was a former business and economics producer now works on Newsnight. Despite behind the scenes, another person joining the rival, is there something up at ITN HQ?
