Lots of programs drop significant amounts of views after their first program.

Celebrity Juice Series 11 (current) got 2.4m viewers in Episode 1 and then 2.0m in Episode 2 and 1.5m in Episode 3.

Hopefully GMB will be staying around for a while, I do love it!

Just had my first chance to watch GMB at length due to being in NYC. Love it and love how bold ITV are being. The attention to detail is very impressive. I think (hope) it'll be more popular than Breakfast in the long run. It's just so much more engaging.

Important:

When October comes, will the opening titles change? ie as 6am it will be dark.

Really wouldn't read too much into the ratings drop over the week - IIRC for some reason the ratings tend to fall across the week anyway.

Hwever.. according to the figures.. BBC Breakfast has gained viewers this week!

I agree that Ross King has to go. The idea of an LA correspondent is stuck in the 90s when the only way to get news from this far away land is to hang on their every word, thesedays entertainment from the USA is as freely available as news from here.

I would also prefer if the entertainment news they did cover was more news rather than gossip.

As breakfast ratings are an average across the whole slot it doesn't really necessarily mean they've got more viewers, it could be that the same people have just watched for a few minutes longer.

I think the gap for reach figures is even greater - 7.5m to 2.5m on Monday.

These ratings aren't surprising - it's how ITV react, or to be more precise, don't react, to them that is crucial.

Does anyone ever question how accurate these ratings actually are ?

Yes it's usually broadcasters who aren't doing very well. Funny that.

Let's hope itv don't start changing stuff because of falling ratings, but they need to get rid of Andi Peters and he can take the wheel with him and get rid of Ross King.

So you hope they *do* start changing things then?

Although I agree with your suggestions. I wonder if Andi Peters will be used as cover for Ben Shepherd?
