Good Morning Britain Video Mock

Well, seeing as I am at a loose end tonight, I've quickly played about with the stock footage I bought for my Big Breakfast mocks.

It is a bit of a lazy mock but I thought it was worth a go (considering the stock footage cost quite a bit for a mock!)

The first thing I did was to remaster the theme slightly, and to shorten it to remove part of the tune I thought had dated the most. Joining the gap of the removed bit was achieved by layering several copies of the track on top of each other to make a seamless join. The result is a nice bit of harmony between two separate parts of the original track which makes the climax more grand (I think anyway).

As for the visuals, I apologise for the title card as I threw this together in Windows Movie Maker, and therefore it fades to a still image. I only have After Effects in my office, and if I had access to that tonight i would have made the form up of the logo much more interesting.

Anyway, here goes:

As you say it's a bit of a lazy mock because it's the same footage as your BB mocks, but that is excused considering you've paid for the stock footage yourself, might as well get enough value out of it!

The join between the two parts of the theme at the end is well done but doesn't sound right to my ears, it sounds a bit like a demonic version of the theme, for want of a better word!

If you're looking for a good quality copy of the original Good Morning Britain theme by the way, file 16564 on MHP is the best I've heard, and is in stereo.

Did the TV-am version ever have a second version of the titles or did those remain in place through to the end?

TV Ark's clips show that the titles didn't change at all throughout the run, apart from one minor change in the last year or so when they changed the 'Morning' part of the sequence so that it runs as it was filmed instead of in reverse. They also updated the main TV-am logo ident to a more simple animation at this time.

thats good, but i arent too sure about the text, but all of the footage looks great!

I'm not particularly happy this has been faded out as a 'Poor Design' when there are far worse on here with higher ratings.

A) it isn't anymore

B) with all due respect, you've not really done much.

It is nice, and I like what you did with the theme, but it really isn't that impressive and the logo is bad. Having said that it's better than many GMB mocks.

I was more than open about how it was a rushed mock, although quite a bit of work went into remixing the theme. I guess it would have been better to have just uploaded the music rather than to have rushed the visuals.

The mock is good, just spend a little more time, different text is the main point, and then repost, I like it, just work on it

Never rush a mock. Spend a good amount of time working on the visuals, play about with them if need be. Maybe leave it for an hour or so and then go back and see how you feel about it now. To be honest though, all you have done is cut a few pieces of stock footage together and placed some text at the end. The logo is very bland and boring. It's a morning show so I don't think black is the colour to use. If a little bit more effort was put into this I'm sure it good be a good mock. I'm giving you a 2/5 for this one.

It works, I'm not sure on the fading on each clip maybe they should change in time with the music?
