My understanding is that it has been confirmed, I have seen various articles from the likes of the daily mirror and showbiz secrets saying that itv have confirmed 28th as the launch date

Oh yes, the daily mirror is a trusted source. Infact, an insider has said the 28th also. So indeed, i could be wrong.

"ITV fears backlash" or rather "ITV desperately trying to underplay the relaunch (whilst still trying to get it in the news) so that people won't have high expectations and might end up liking it"?

If good morning Britain is launching on the 28th, why has there been no more info or a promo for the new show? As daybreak version 1 did trailers for the new show,around two weeks before the launch if i remember correctly..
