Steve MacDonald has just said that the price-drop studio is getting a makeover. The current one didn't last long did it! They're in the bid plus studio for a couple of days.
Steve Macdonald has said they are fixing the aircon, doing the floor and giving the studio a make over. They will be in the Speed Auction/Bid Plus studio for a few days.

The most recent Price Drop studio was pretty random in my opinion, the side to the left of the steps was nice, but the rest was either far too much plain wall or cheap irrelevant brick wallpaper with badly lit fake windows.
I'd love to see both channels go back to their early days, simple clean sets (without plasma screens and video walls) with two pods, one on either side of the studio that they ping pong between with no other products cramping the set.
The problem with them trying to cram so many different presentation areas into all of there studios, is the lighting is rarely very even.

I wonder if they got their inspiration from this video?

I don't think the screens are much of an issue (price drop have always had them) - I'd just be happy for them to excise the fake brick and cack-looking frosted windows, and clear out the clutter.
If they're doing a proper makeover, then I reckon they will make the set similar to bid's (colour-changing LEDs ahoy) - if not, I do hope they make the set work better to their current needs.
I wonder why they've decided to give the PD studio a re-vamp? Maybe all those decorations from the last few themed months have ruined the paint work when taking them down? Steve Macdonald said yesterday when he first came on "We don't have chipped brickwork in here!"
Also, why is the sound in the old speed auction studio not so good? If you compare the sound to bid, bid's sounds crystal clear. Is it to do with the size of the studio? Peter Simon once joked that the speed auction studio was 4x4 when bid was getting their new studio.

The price drop studio looks cack in comparison to the bid studio, to be perfectly honest. It might need some technical upgrades too.
So I'm guessing we'll be seeing the new look price-drop studio next Wednesday? as that appears to be bid shopping's favourite day for announcing/revealing things.
Theming up the studios seems to be the order of the day at the moment, so I wouldn't be surprised if they go for something more like Bid's studio - i.e. relatively plain, easy to add decoration to, colour changing lights etc.
Although, that said, the current PD studio isn't that old - so it might just be a refresh rather than a wholesale change?
It doesn't look like a major relaunch otherwise there would have been promotion like there was when the current set was introduced. I agree that It might just be a fresh lick of paint on the floor and they might be getting rid of the brick work.

The very first set (their best IMO) had no screens...
