Was it a classic Granada endcap or the more recent purple one?
I do live in hope that one day in the very distant future that ITV (or whatever it is then) will begin reviving such names either for new local ventures or something else, using the name as a random nod to the past that probably will make no sense to the TV Forum posters of the day.

Not franchise-wise but 1992 was the year Charles Allen took charge and arguably the rot set in, the cuts began, mergers started happening etc.
The programme was a lot better than I'd expected when I heard Peter Kay was involved, sensibly they kept him just to wandering about the place rather than "authoring" the whole thing. After the CITV doc was a bit disappointing it was quite good to be surprised. I do still think it's amazing though that they put it on ITV(1) on Saturday night, even the BBC didn't do that with the TVC doc. ITV as a whole does seem a lot more at peace with its history of late, couldn't have imagined the CITV 30 doc and this even just a few years ago.
I hope those red letters are incorporated somewhere at Media City, even if indoors somewhere...
Nothing changed at Granada in 1993

I think it helped that Kay has genuine affection and respect for Granada.

Birds of a Feather sitcom to return - on ITV
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22948998
Hit sitcom Birds Of A Feather is to return to TV after 15 years but will appear on ITV, which has signed up the original BBC cast and writers.
It stars Pauline Quirke and Linda Robson as sisters sharing an Essex home while their husbands are in prison, with Lesley Joseph playing their lusty neighbour, Dorien Green.
It will be written by creators of the show Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.
An ITV spokeswoman said they were "really excited" about the show.
"We can confirm that we have commissioned a new series of Birds Of A Feather ," she said. "We're really excited to be welcoming Sharon, Tracey and Dorien to ITV. We will confirm more details in due course."
The BBC confirmed it was offered the show and had said it would broadcast a one-off special, but the show's producers took up ITV's offer of a series instead.
The show's three stars, who reunited last year for a stage version, will film eight episodes later this year.
Robson, who appeared on Tuesday's edition of daytime chat show Loose Women on ITV, said: "I've had to keep quiet about it for a while," adding that on the back of the success of the tour they would "start in September".
Birds of a Feather was first screened in 1989 and clocked up nine seasons, with its last episode shown on television in 1998.

I'm guessing it'll go in the Job Lot slot. Wonder who'll play Daryl and Chris this time round? Can't think it'll be Lewis and Polycarpou again.
BA
I hope it doesn't go the way of recent resurrections of other programmes - the signs do seem to be good with this one, but only time will tell.

It seems to be following the exact same pattern as Yes Minister.
Successful nostalgic stage show.-Check
Original writers who haven't written a hit (Mumbai calling, Believe Nothing) in years on board-Check
Demands for a series from the BBC rather than a one off/Pilot-Check
So will it continue the pattern and flop once the initial curiosity factor dies down?
According to the Radio Times, Vicious is unlikely to be recommissioned either. Unsurprisingly given it ended up with worse ratings than the already axed 'Great night out'.

Well the Christmas Special of Vicious has already been filmed, so hopefully it will get recommissioned. I for one actually enjoyed it.
