Maybe. TV Ark has an example from 1990 but it may well be at night time.
I believe Invison CA were kept by STV until Oct 1991, when the new STV night time ident come along ( its own version of the black cat)

# 1965-1985 you can thank MR STV! for these
An animated ident was introduced by 1965 in which the lion would spin inside a box , though this later modified as a simple zoom in following, according to some reports, a complaint from The Lord Lyon King of Arms, the man in charge of protecting Scotland's heraldry When colour began the lion continued to zoom but in pale blue. After the start of colour broadcasting, the lion rampant symbol was replaced within a year by a stylised 'STV' logo, which during its 15 year rein, change very little. The First version showed a zooming STV, by mid 70s it was updated with the letter comforming into the centre to make "STV". Throughout the 70s until 1985, this stylised was used as either a static caption, or form up from a pattered design that was supposed to represent tartan. Accompanying the look was a clock against a blue background with the white STV logo forming a pattern across the screen. The station's first theme was a specially composed piece by Geraldo entitled Scotlandia, which began each day's broadcasting - the theme continued to be heard until August 1985, this was accompanied At the climax by a slowly rotating '3D' STV 'illuminated name block' appeared. kept their regional ones until the hearts idents arrived, when they edited regional versions. Carlton,
Central & Westcountry didn't initially use any of the hearts package till Carlton brought
the star idents in for all the regions in September 1999, when they started using the hearts trailers
and breakbumper. Personally, I'm surprised they didn't go for special Carlton ones, considering
how different the idents were. Not sure what Channel were doing at the time and it's hard to find
continuity on Youtube, especially as 'Channel TV' aren't good search words,
but Scottish, Grampian and UTV never implemented any of the hearts look.

Yes, GMG regions and Border also introduced those in October 1998, about 11 months before the hearts. T
he GMG regions and Border also used the hearts breakbumper from October 1998, whereas the UNM regions
kept their regional ones until the hearts idents arrived, when they edited regional versions. Carlton,
Central & Westcountry didn't initially use any of the hearts package till Carlton brought
the star idents in for all the regions in September 1999, when they started using the hearts trailers

RE: Granada 'Gold' ident, this clip shows that it was certainly in use by December 1986, judging by the IVC back-drop...
it's worth noting that there was an autumn version of the Granada ident that ran in 1986, which was also used on IVC etc...
And the Sky 'Eggcups' were used from Saturday 1st November 1997, and the last time they were on was on Wednesday 30th September 1998 on Sky News, Sky Travel and Sky Soap.

Are you sure about that? I seem to remember the first set of idents didn't even last until the end of 1993
The originals had a shadowed background (plant, fan, blinds etc). The second batch were different (no 'London' and they didn't speak) and used a mottled background along with one they used a lot which was a montage of several

The announcer is Roger Tilling, I believe out of the Manchester team only he and Tracey Crawford went to Leeds. On my YT channel I have a couple of Granada clips from Autumn 1998, revolving around Police Camera Action, and the announcements were always generic, never did they on Granada or ITV. There's some clips about somewhere of the introduction to the final News At Ten in 1999 across Granada/Yorkshire/Tyne Tees that were the same.
Anyway here's a clip from Autumn 1998, sounding generic.
Is this Manchester continuity here on Thursday 15th October 1998? It sure sounds like it...

So really, there's no way of knowing. In the clip I put up, Roger Tilling may well be in Leeds but have actually bothered to give Granada some dedicated continuity. Or the 'generic' one of yours could easily be in Manchester. There's plenty of examples of the Manchester-based announcer not name-checking the station.
By the way, is there no chance of dating your video? It's a Thursday and could even be from the same date as the other video.

A poster on the clip has said it's from November, but I don't think the poster is reliable, sadly I have no knowledge of when exactly, but I'm sure it was from October 1998, I wouldn't rule it out from being on the same night as the News At Ten clip.
