I think that such people need to start taking the route of a more public complaint, such as contacting Watchdog. Everyone knew that the ASA were eventually going to snap.

Or they could just enjoy Bid TV for what it is and not feel they need to get involved in things that have no effect on them at all.

Of course it has an effect on them.

I doubt that's the case unless he's a regular buyer from the channels. Given the volume of his complaints and the reasons he's posted on that forum about them (i.e. protecting "vulnerable" viewers) it doesn't look like he is a regular buyer, rather an anorak (and there's nothing wrong with that) who is nitpicking.

I'd say that his complaints are vexatious and he has not suffered personal detriment as a result of Bid Shopping's channels.

Apparently he is also the one who got them to display the P&P larger and mention the full price rather than the price of the item.

Imagine the BBC News channel making alterations to their sets/camera shots each time worzel from the newsroom complained to them! Laughing

A TV programme which routinely misleads the gullible and/or vulnerable in to emptying their wallets? People wouldn't allow what they do to happen on the High Street, I don't understand why it's acceptable or why even a viewer uninterested in purchasing should put up with it.

The rules are there for a reason, and as bilky asko pointed out earlier in the thread I don't understand why some see fit to stand up for a broadcaster which has absolutely scant regard for them - especially since these rules are there to protect rather than prevent offence.

If I had received such a letter (and I doubt I will, since I've only sent a handful of complaints with all but one being investigated), I would (truthfully) counter that I find the behaviour described in my complaints morally repugnant.

I think the parallel to draw here is if BBC News were to mislead the public routinely with their reporting. It's not as if people were complaining to the ASA over the gaps between the projection cubes in the price drop studio.

According to Peter Simon over the weekend "a decision is to be made on Wednesday" was this him pratting around or was he hinting at something serious?

Can you provide some context to the comment?

It was on one of the many Peter Simon threads on the shoppingtelly.com website

Apparently after having a crack at the director he went on to say that a decision is to be made on wednesday and of course on there they're all talking about the end/job losses etc...

Oh right, was this when he mentioned "You are not multi-skilled either"?

Oh come off it. That's completely different. I've never complained about the graphics on the News channel and actually have a good relationship with the team there. Been to BBC News at TVC a couple of times to see what the channel does etc etc.

I was amazed on Saturday to see Peter Simon enter the Bid studio and eat some of the pizza from a Halogen Oven at just after 5pm. His shift didn't start until 10pm so he had 5 hours to prepare for a 3 and a half hour shift. I think with the compulsory purchase of his house, he might be living at Sit up.

Contrary to what it may appear on TV, a presenter with a 10pm-1:30am broadcast shift doesn't walk through the door at 9:59pm and bugger off out the car park at 1:31am. I'd be surprised if it wasn't anything less than a full-time job with regards to hours put in overall. A 12 hour shift wouldn't surprise me.

With regards to HS2, in all honesty Mr Simon does tend to ramble a bit and I wouldn't be surprised if the story is slightly embellished.
