How much newsgathering is happening at NBH so far, and how does/will this operation work during the transfer?
Can journalists work at both sites and run things via the computer system, or is it one department at a time moving across. If the later, how do the departments that have moved - say, World newsgathering - get their news back to TVC?
I can imagine it's all very complicated!

Someone has already advised that another studio in TVC would be used. I can't recall which.
You may be confused over the reasons. TC4 will be used during the Olympics.
What will TC4 be used for?
The gallery will be in use to allow network news bulletins to be broadcast in HD during the Olympics. Essentially it'll be used to cut between the *ahem* "Stratford Broadcast Tower", and an upconverted N6.
So the graphics playout, will that be in HD, and if so will the news be using Olympic special titles, or HD versions of the current titles?

Will the News at Six still come from TC7 after everything else has moved to BH in September? Or will it come from N6?

The news at six will come from N6, with the news at five coming from N8 for rehearsal time. The BBC are keen to hand back TC7 as it is currently on loan from another department (BBC Studios I think).

The world has changed since the sixties, as most drama is made on location and there has been a massive reduction in the number of sitcoms and comedy shows that would use TVC. However, I am delighted the building is being kept as the BBC should keep at least two studios to be used for shows like National Lottery Live and Strictly. Yet the days when this huge building had 7000 staff and the studios were constantly in use are over.
As to news about keeping some studios in TVC, given that the exterior of TC1 and the ring containing some of the other studios is listed there is a fair possibility some could be kept, especially the profitable HD converted ones.
Nostalgia aside the disposal of TVC from BBC assets was coming - the broadcast environment has changed too much and calls for the BBC to become smaller are coming from all sides. At least the corporation is housing another building that has a lot of history with the corporation: Broadcasting House. The listing at least means that it will remain as a landmark, hopefully with some sort of plaque or board stating 'For 50 years great television was made here'.

Exactly and Strictly only needs a studio for 12 Saturday's a year and could easily move to Elstree/Shepperton like The Voice live, The Magicians and let's dance for Comic Relief.
I don't think it's been used for the
lottery for a few years now
- most the quizzes are filmed in Glasgow while the draws were moved to "Lottery HQ" a few years ago, not long after the draw was invaded by protesters from Fathers 4 Justice.
