ITV 1 and ITV 2 logos

We all know ITV 1's logo, rather boring i know, but what bothers me is, will itv 2 change its logo to be like itv 1, personally i was hoping the ITV 1 logo would be like ITV 2's.  If it isnt changed its going to look pretty dodgy!

I prefer the current ITV2 logo. So i think the new ITV1 should be like that of ITV 2s.

I was wondering about this myself. I wouldn't have thought they would be changing the ITV2 logo because all of the idents are based upon it. I guess it doesn't need to be to similar to ITV1, but I could be wrong.

I prefer the two on the right, because ITV Digital, ITV Sport etc etc follow that blue and yellow colour scheme so why should ITV1 and ITV2 be any different

Rebranded as what ?

Who's your source? Or is this a get-your-own-back for people making claims about various ITV developments without backing it up? Or am I reading too much into this at this time of night?!

I think the two logos on the right look better - IMO the current ITV2 logo is naff and not very exciting. Simply sticking a 2 on the end doesn't make it more exciting - in fact it makes it duller(!) but I think it looks better than the current one, especially if used with the ITV1 logo.

BTW - I quite like ITV2's lava-lamp effect endboards - do you think ITV1 may 'borrow' these for its own end boards if the hearts are banished to the horror section of the TV archives (alongside Wogans toupe and the prizes on Blankety Blank)?

I think rebranded may be the wrong word, but I have read somewhere (I can't remember where) that it will get a new look, even possibly the same as or similar to ITV1. Sorry, that's all I can remember!

I don't think that makes any sense, the BBC has shown that you can have 2 channels with completely different looks. It's not necessary for them to be the same, in fact they need to be a bit different from each other so viewers know which channel they are watching. If ITV2 do change it will probably mean completely new idents as the all feature the ITV '2' very prominantly.

Now that doesn't make sense. All BBC channels are branded identically! There's only a small difference between them, and that's the ident.

I'm not saying I think ITV2 should have the same idents as ITV1, but keeping the example of the BBC - that's a brilliant example of the successful use of corporate logos: BBC ONE having completely different idents to, say, BBC PRIME, but having the same logo but with the name changed.
