Just a note to people, Sky News Online are currently relaying out Sky News live, as you all knew, but I don't think it's been mentioned that during the adverts, the online version is playing out the clean headline bed. Sorry if it's already been said.
Sky on Fox isn't really a shocker, but nice to see. Fox have been using Sky's reports from Afghanistan for a few weeks now, and it makes a great deal more sense to simply opt-in to Sky News, who've got their full resources on offer. It also helps to cut costs. Wars are not cheap things to cover and so any savings will be appreciated, wouldn't surprise me if we see Sky turning to Fox for overnight coverage.
Minor gripe - the BBC are not the only network covering this. We've had a few mentions of Sky and some of the US and Canadian networks, but the rest is just 30 pages of BBC News coverage. Don't just watch the BBC, people!
Oh and as for Sky News being first, I wasn't going to say anything but... (

) last night I was watching to find out about a 3rd 'wave' of strikes on Afghanistan. I had presumed this was on all channels so didn't bother flicking about to check. About 30 mins later I flicked over to News 24 to listen to a military analyst in the studio, followed by a report from Washington and then Chris Lowe saying that the BBC had 'more news coming in to them' - or something like that - and they had only just got around to reporting the 3rd wave, this despite the fact that the BBC have (and need) hugely more people in the region than Sky.
I've been really impressed with NBC, they've got a lot of people in the region and appear to be the only network using their in-vision cameras effectively. Well done to them.
The Sky analysts have been excellent, and it's strange to see four people sitting at the desk at the top of the hour, it's like 1996 again! They've also got a little computer on the desk, allowing them to draw on-screen etc. And the newswall is excellent, makes the studio look different all the time and the reporters appear to finally be getting used to the different camera angles.
