It seems strange that the american networks are showing UK Coverage!

Just overnight. Not many people are going to watch from 3.00 am to 6.00 am -- CNNUS have been showing CNN International from about 3.00 to 5.00 am ever since this crisis happened. MSNBC is the only channel providing their same coverage 24/7 -- they don't have a UK counterpart.

I must say Rob that first TWT pic is a bit strange, I have never seen that side shot before!!

It looks pretty cool.

Do you have the vids encoded yet?

Just a note to people, Sky News Online are currently relaying out Sky News live, as you all knew, but I don't think it's been mentioned that during the adverts, the online version is playing out the clean headline bed. Sorry if it's already been said.

Sky on Fox isn't really a shocker, but nice to see. Fox have been using Sky's reports from Afghanistan for a few weeks now, and it makes a great deal more sense to simply opt-in to Sky News, who've got their full resources on offer. It also helps to cut costs. Wars are not cheap things to cover and so any savings will be appreciated, wouldn't surprise me if we see Sky turning to Fox for overnight coverage.

Minor gripe - the BBC are not the only network covering this. We've had a few mentions of Sky and some of the US and Canadian networks, but the rest is just 30 pages of BBC News coverage. Don't just watch the BBC, people!

Oh and as for Sky News being first, I wasn't going to say anything but... (Wink) last night I was watching to find out about a 3rd 'wave' of strikes on Afghanistan. I had presumed this was on all channels so didn't bother flicking about to check. About 30 mins later I flicked over to News 24 to listen to a military analyst in the studio, followed by a report from Washington and then Chris Lowe saying that the BBC had 'more news coming in to them' - or something like that - and they had only just got around to reporting the 3rd wave, this despite the fact that the BBC have (and need) hugely more people in the region than Sky.

I've been really impressed with NBC, they've got a lot of people in the region and appear to be the only network using their in-vision cameras effectively. Well done to them.

The Sky analysts have been excellent, and it's strange to see four people sitting at the desk at the top of the hour, it's like 1996 again! They've also got a little computer on the desk, allowing them to draw on-screen etc. And the newswall is excellent, makes the studio look different all the time and the reporters appear to finally be getting used to the different camera angles.

I don't really remember but I think that was at the very beginning of the programme -- I think the camera quickly zoomed or panned in over over -- it was a pretty cool effect.

Can anyone tell me who replaced Bill Turnbull on BBC News 24 this afternoon between 1300 and 1600?

Chris Lowe was on later, he was replaced by Gavin and then replaced Gavin. Logical? No. At least I think that's what happened. He was presenting with that Anna person, who's very impressive I have to say. Later it was Bill Turnbull and Heather McCarthy.

Just when did Kay Burley and Jeremy Thompson come off Sky News? They'd been on for hours.

Nice to see Sky have finally managed to sort themselves out in-vision in Afghanistan. Obviously the helicopter flights carrying journalists have resumed.

I've been splitting my time between BBC World and MSNBC. I've been watching BBC World more because generally I can't watch it so it's a bit of a 'treat.' But MSNBC's coverage has been very good. For a US channel that doesn't have an international news channel they'ev blanketed the region with their correspondents - Tom Aspel, Dana Lewis, Martin Fletcher, and of course the best of them all Ashleigh Banfield in Islamabad. The presenters have been really good too, especially Soledad O'Brien and Brian Williams. He's the best presenter that I've ever seen. He knows EVERYTHING. He's got a great sense of humour and intersperses his interviews with fascinating tidbits. MSNBC just have such horrible graphics and music - it hurts to watch sometimes! CNN's coverage has been pretty good too - they updated their graphics last week and now they look horrible. Paula Zahn, Bill Hemmer, and Judy Woodruf are really good - I don't like Aaron Browne though, and they've been giving huim a lot of screentime. CBS' and ABC's coverage has also been good - they don't have as many correspondents though. Fox's has been bad -- very American-patriotic slanted. Yuk.

I ask this, as surely the BBC wouldn't expect Bill to have done Breakfast between 0600 and 0900, then 0000-0500, as well as 1300-1600!! They must have replaced him with someone!

I've been hopping between WinTV 2000, RealPlayer, and Windows Media watching the following channels: CBC Newsworld, CTV Newsnet, BBC World, BBC News 24, Sky News... ITN I didn't bother watching Razz

Sky News is doing a pretty good job with the coverage. It's too bad the stream is only TEMPORARY, so after this I'll only have BBC World to watch on WMP... unless BBC and Sky opt to stream News 24 and SkyNews... that would be lovely.
