Fiona Bruce, Sophie Raworth, Emily Maitlis & Sian Williams are this year's BBC Newsreaders performers. They will be doing ballroom in a Strictly Special!

Will there be any male performers? I remember last year Nicholas Owen, Ben Brown and Charlie Stayt took more of a back seat, will there even be any males at all this year?!

Don't the weather girls take a turn thesedays?

Sue Thearle presenting on the News Channel this evening.

Can't watch it! Zero credibility and, like Susanna Reid, a style more suited to CBeebies.

Really? I actually quite like when Sue Thearle presents. She's far better than Susanna Reid!

Still, each to their own. Guess it wouldn't do if we all thought the same?

(Didn't David Eades do GMT one day this week, apart from Naga?)

No. Think Zeinab did Monday, but otherwise it's been Naga

(As a side note great segment on the Commonwealth Summit on GMT today, including reports on the view from Canada and Jamacia. Informative and in depth, and nice to see reporting from two countries that rarely make the international news spotlight)

Meanwhile over on BBC World, Tanya Beckett is filling-in for Zeinab Badawi tonight.

Very pleasant surprise tonight

Not that I'm aware of. Unless they do something separately from the newsreaders?

And after a late night finish, filling-in for Zeinab Badawi, Tanya Beckett is on early this morning with Martine Dennis on The World Today.

I can never get enough of Tanya Beckett on the news. Great presenter.

Furthermore, in edit:

Halfway down the attached page, there is an image from the then BBC News 24 side pod (now the BBC World Newsreader pod), and the presenter on the stool is listed as "Sir Matthew Pinsent'. Does he actually still appear on BBC News sports sections and, is he referred to as "Sir Matthew'?

Don't think he's done sports bulletins for ages. He did file a report from Sochi on Winter Olympics preperations a few weeks ago though

I think Matthew Pinsent's main brief at the moment is World Olympic Dreams.

He doesn't use his title when working on-air.

Tim Willcox has had a long day, he did the 11:00-14:00 on the News Channel this morning with Sophie Long. Now he's doing 22:30-00:30. Not sure if he's been on BBC World today?

Tim usually spends 17 hours of his Friday in the newsroom, somewhere, so it's no major surprise. Wouldn't actually surprise me if he'd hacked in a quick shift on World somewhere in between his News Channel shifts, either presenting 'The Hub' or 'World News Today'. He didn't present 'The World Today' because Tanya Beckett did that, he didn't cover David Eades shift because that was Adam Parsons, Zeinab Badawi did GMT, and he couldn't have done Impact because that would have clashed with his 11-2 NC shift!!

Martine Dennis and Tanya Beckett did The World Today. The rest of yesterday was as you've listed, plus: Peter Dobbie and Lucy Hockings on Impact. Nik Gowing and Lucy Hockings on The Hub. And Zeinab Badawi was back on World News Today.

We were Timless yesterday.

In edit: In fact, Naga Munchetty and Adam Parsons are the new Tims! Naga was on The World Today all week (except Friday) and GMT for three days, and today is on Breakfast.

Adam has been all over the shot this week: two days on World and three days on the News Channel (some days both), and today he's doing Weekend Breakfast on Radio 5Live. News. Business. Sport! A man for all reasons.

Personally, I'm glad. We badly needed (the right type of) new blood on World. Both Naga and Adam have proven to be highly watchable and affable.
