It seems we have Newsround vs Blue Peter on the BBC News channel this afternoon, Chris Rogers and Ellie Crisell. Someone needs to tell Ellie she isn't presenting Newsround anymore and get her to dress a bit more appropriately for a rolling news channel.

Ellie Crisell - haven't seen her present the NC for quite a while. She has definitely improved over the years that she's been a relief presenter, still has that 'patronising' voice a bit though

Did my ears deceive me, or did I just hear Lucy Hockings on BBC World, introduce Orla Guerin as "our Pakistan Editor"?

Is Orla now an Editor?

I think your ears deceived you or she misspoke. As far as I'm aware the BBC doesn't bother with 'Editors' for individual countries (even Mark Mardell is editor for 'North America', not just the US). And there's been no announcement to say otherwise.

Does anyone else think that Chris Rogers is smarmy, patronising and every so slightly out of his depth?

He's OK, nothing special. Certainly a very hard-working presenter, covers a lot of shifts, but personally would class him in the same 'relief presenter category' as the likes of Adam Parsons or Roger Johnson. Not quite at the heights of Tim 'I cover everything on every BBC news channel' Willcox, if you know what I mean, who in my opinion is the best, most consummate professional, rolling news anchor I have ever seen on TV.

He's much better than Parsons and Johnson - I don't really mind having him on. But he lacks chemistry with presenters - something some people think is for the better, but I personally find makes a 24-hour news channel bland and dull. Someone like Tim Willcox does interviews and serious news perfectly, but can also have good chemistry and has a good on-air presence.

Have to say I really like Chris Rogers - would be quite happy to see him be given a regular daytime slot over, for example, Ben Brown.

I find Ben Brown incredibly annoying - he sounds so smarmy and has a very strange way of reading.

Adam Parsons on the NC at the moment instead of Maxine Mawhinney - did he read the news on the national Politics Show like she normally does?

No Politics Show today - Tim Willcox did a standalone national bulletin on BBC1/NC at midday

Ah right, my fault! Cheers. Maxine's probably taking her few weeks off as she does occasionally, so no doubt we'll be seeing more of Tim, Chris Rogers, Adam Parsons, and Roger Johnson.

Sorry to double-post - Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije from BBC Look East has been doing '60 Seconds' news on BBC Three this weekend.
