Long time no see - Adam Parsons on the news channel just now presenting with Martine.

Good to see him, but I thought he'd left the BBC a couple of years ago to become the 'Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the British Olympic Association'? Short staffed, maybe?

Travelodge and Adam Parsons probably had a parting of the ways and he is desperate for work? http://prweek.com/uk/news/1007156/Travelodge-poaches-Adam-Parsons-British-Olympic-Association-PR-role

For the first time that I can ever recall, the same presenter is doing both Impact Asia and The Hub on the same day on BBC World News. Up until now, BBC has made a point of splitting the strands with different presenting teams on the same day. I wouldn't be surprised if the same anchor (no prizes for guessing who) will go on to also present the late shift on the News Channel today as well.

Babita Sharma on a dayshift today, and on the News Channel as well! That's unusual these days.

That makes a nice change. To my knowledge, that's Tim Willcox or Martine Croxall's shift and we get quite a bit of them in the week anyway. Lots of sit-down stand-up on this shift - should be good!!!

Not really, Babita's only presented daytime news shifts a handfull of times on the News Channel during her career. Comparatively, the main overnight presenters have always appeared on the News Channel during the day - including Croxall, Munchetty, Giannone etc.

Babita has now become my fav BBC news presenter, second only to someone else. She is coming up in the UK in about seven minutes, I.e.4pm London time.

I never imagined that the lady who once punched Jon Sopel would reach these heights of greatness. Feedback from US viewers would suggest that they really like her as well.

Interesting (and nice) to see Babita Sharma on the 4-7 Saturday shift on News 24. Don't think I've ever seen her on in the daytime apart from doing the biz. Makes a change to see another face doing a shift that's usually reserved for the likes of Martine Croxall, Tim, Carole Walker, Tim, Chris Rogers, Tim, Sue Thearle, Tim, Roger Johnson, Tim, Rachel Schofield, Tim, Sophie Long, Tim and Karin Giannone.

And, oooh yes, Tim Willcox...

That's not strictly true. While the examples you cite have certainly appeared during the daytime as well as overnight on a fairly frequent basis, the majority of overnight presenters in the past 10 years have seldom presented daytime shifts, including Alastair Yates, Deborah MacKenzie, Heather McCarthy, Clarence Mitchell and Rageh Omaar.

And only one of them has ever fallen asleep in a cubicle, Rob, whilst on duty. But that's another story entirely..............
