BBC News: Presenters & Rotas

She mentioned 'World News' several times while I watched, where they would usually say 'BBC News'. I wonder if Alastair's coming back?

I'm pretty sure Alastair has either retired without a mention (as Peter Sissons did) or he is currently ill. He's been off for a good number of weeks now..

Or he may well be having a lovely vacation in Tuscany. LOL.

BBC World News: a rather surprising choice of newscaster on the middle shift today: Jamie Coomarasamy. And Sarah Wilmshurst doing the weather.

I thought I was in the nineties for a moment there. Haven't seen Jamie reading the news for years. He did weekend shifts many years ago, and also filled-in from Washington on a couple of occasions.

Does anyone know who presented 9-1 on the news channel? Thanks

Thanks, the weekend presenters have been really weird this weekend because Maxine isn't on. We had Chris Rogers, Sue, Martine & Clive yesterday. Today so far: Tim then Sophie.

Tim seemed to spend ages at the palace yesterday. I saw him on the NC at 10am and he was still there at 4.30pm when I went past the palace. Did he stay on longer?

And now Martine from 4pm

Tim was on until around the early evening bulletin. Then he finally left!

The name seems familiar, Did she work for some ITN service before this?

Geeta's been a BBC World presenter for at least 10 years. I'm surprised you've not seen her before. The reason you associate her with ITN is because her brother, Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a presenter of Channel 4 News. Before this, he too used to work for the BBC presenting Newsround in the early 1990s.

Who is the lady presenting with Ben Brown this afternoon?
