From having 3 good teams to just truly awful, unprofessional one now. This week is even worse without Fred. I cannot understand how these people were chosen over others!

On a different note, anything happened to Bev over on South East Today as I havent seen her on much lately.

Geoff Clarke said she was ill and thanked viewers for their emails.

Oh dear... more misery...

Fire crews tackle blaze at former TV studios

Guess somebody wasn't happy with the regional cuts then!

That is just a horrible way to end the life of a great building with such a legacy. I am really disturbed by this. It's not just A building, it's thinking of the great programmes that were made there. I really hate ITV plc and I hate people who have nothing better to do than do things like this/ They're just A**holes! Mad

I hate to think what will happen to the YTV studios in Leeds when they close down. Rolling Eyes

Yep, such a huge shame. Television history all up in smoke.

Well, not exactly. The Northam studios have been in the process of being demolished for some weeks now. It looks like this fire was in a pile of wood and detritus amongst the rubble. Yes, it's a shame the studios are being demolished but they've lain empty for what, 5 years now? No-one's found an economically viable television or film use for them so sadly the land's worth more.

I guess the fact that somebody came and criminally did it is what makes the whole thing terrible. I know (being from Brighton) when the West Pier was gutted in 2003 that was terrible, despite being left to rot for 28 years. I think the arson factor is what's upset me in this instance. But I guess you do get jackasses like that in society. Rolling Eyes

With the West Pier there were plans to rebuild it and that's what made that so terrible, also the fact that to set fire to the pier someone had to go underneath, in a boat and fire flares into it. With the fire at the studios some chavs set light to a pile of rubbish, it's the sort of thing that happens so often.

Rachel and Chris in tonight then, living in the South East I didn't really feel that confortable with the South Team presenting but Rahcel and Chris got on quite well IMO

What's happened to Fred then? Has he seen sense and left?

Every edition is like a Sunday bulletin these days, I don't really bother with it much now.

Just like any other region these days...all of them do they job ok but no personality or raport etc...Although Meridian has changed a lot over the years it still had good presenters with a friendly bright way and real raport up until Feb 9th - RIP

Grade has done the worse damage anyone could have done to ITV regional news, it's like breaking up a family / community

I thought tonights edition of Meridian was just...well I don't know how to put into words really! The ending was just cringeworthy! The only professional on the presenting team tonight was Paul.

This is just what ITV want though, for everyone to stop watching their "local news"... Rolling Eyes

Well done Mr Grade, your work is done...
