I have to say, I found this headline worringly misleading...

Rhys Jones said of his appointment: "I have boobed myself - I know the territory. It's always been a great, great show. I am ready, willing and awfully excited by the opportunity to take it on to the 22nd century."

The next Jimmy Saville?

Obviously there was better presenters available but I found Jones to be a very good host for the show. Okay, maybe there were a few too many puns and bad jokes, but didn't we get them from Denis Norden too? Either way, I thought it was a great show, adding to the rare find that is "a good line up on ITV".

It was a good show, lots of truly brand new clips and some very recent too

Caught him blathering on far too long about TV chefs and turned over after the following clips. He's constipated or summat, very annoying.

Perhaps TV's Naughtiest Blunders is more up your street if you have a limited attention span.

It'll be Alright on the Night hasn't always just been about the clips but also the Dennis Norden monologues, and in that sense this new version remained faithful to that.

They had the clip to presenter balance about spot on I'd say.

I thought Griff did a superb job; he'll be a good host for the show in the longer term. I look forward to the next edition, whenever that may be - and that's something I don't often say about ITV1 programmes these days!

Thought that was really good, Griff doing a good job whilst keeping faithful to the programme's style. The odd regularly seen clip ("dunking the beef") but some nice new stuff from Central and UTV, Gaynor on YTV's Tonight and the recent C4 News fire alarm incident.

The "dunking the beef" clip had me roaring with laughter - not just at what was said, but watching Phil and Fern trying (and failing) to contain themselves too.

Laughing
