Is that the same as The Sun, Daily Mail and influenza being popular?

Well yes, its top so it must be popular, oh no hang on, no its not because its soaps and reality shows which dominate so people only watched them out of habit so it shouldnt be top, it should be more Dr Who or History channel stuff, you should have said Rolling Eyes Razz sorry

It will be the same thing because:

1) Sun readers seem to buy the paper for the soaps and reality stuff -- why else is the paper stuffed full of gossip about them;

2) Express and Mail readers clearly think of nothing but Diana (and Maddie);

3) When it comes to dirge like Dibley and Doc Martin, the only reason for sitting through that carp I can think of is being full of flu and not being able to reach the remote.

Before any clapped out Uni high horse trout thinks that i can't understand a joke, i do agree with your second point. I am a Sun reader and do watch this crap, and i don't like Dibley (is it even that funny?) or Doc Martin, but then again i'm hardly ever ill, touch wood.

And I know in that list we got a few weeks before Christmas Corrie was in the top 100 dozens of times, while EastEnders was only there once or twice - so even with their good run over Christmas, Corrie would still have far more episodes in the top 100 rated shows.

In the Top 100, Coronation Street appears 81 times against EastEnders' 7

(The other 12 programmes in the top 100 are 2 Britain's Got Talents, Concert for Diana, Doctor Who, Match of the Day, Rugby World Cup, 3 Strictly's, Vicar of Dibley and 2 X Factors)

Looking at those figures that really is a sad state of affairs isn't it? It just shows how crap TV in this country is now, 88 entries are soaps FFS

What I find worse it that at least Coronation Street has had solid viewing figures throughout the year - whereas Eastenders have more fickle viewers where it seems that an extra few million just tune in when there is some alledged big storyline being played out!

It's also pretty impressive how close Emmerdale's average is to Eastenders!
