Why do we have to be bored stiff with 2D logos created by master designers for billions of pounds when, there is a person who can do 1000x better with a computer programme and no budget at all, creating 3D tinted, gradient, shadowed logos, that look absolutely brilliant.
Amazing. Absolutely amazing. You must have read my mind, this is what I imagined would happen when the menu faded up the first time I saw the awful new EPG. The production slide isn't bad as well!
Wow Lee, I don't look at this thread for a day and look at it.
Great new logos, I see what you mean, it would be great to see how you could incorporate them into various idents. I do prefer the ITV2 logo myself as just by looking at it you can tell that it fits in with the branding, programming and current image of ITV2. Not sure on the itv1 with the logo beneath, but as I said it would be interesting to see how its used.
Not a great fan of the new ECP, I see what you've done by being able to see the background, but that productions endcap looks amazing.
Have you tried experimenting with the ITV1 logo in this way? As you said earlier all it can do is open out, if its spinning whilst opening, or springs open after, it may add to the look.
Or how about doing something with the base shape, twisting it, moulding it, anything, before the letters attack, so to speak.
Do you think CGI idents for ITV1 would work in a better way? At least then you don't have the random images that mean nothing to the channel, and you could manipulate it in any way, have sombre idents or more exciting entertaining idents to vary the bunch.
I've always thought that the current ITV logo was lacking something, the ITV.com animation made me realise that even though the logo is very boring and flat, when animated in a 3D way, it could change the whole identity.
For example, why doesn't the ITV2 logo drop into the scene behind and around the objects, much like the takeaway objects do in the new XXL Thursday versions on the idents, rather than being placed on top of the action in a corner?
And finally, has anyone played around with the colouring of the ITV1 logo, eitehr changing the colour away from yellow, or making it more golden rather than yellow, thus incorporating the white logo on a darker logo?
I'm a great fan of your work Lee, and I'd love to know more about how you do it, and what goes on in your head to create these things. I just wish that I had the software and the knowledge to be able to put my ideas into practice.
I have nothing else to offer at this time, please continue the squabbling.
I like the itv, as it gives it a bit more lass having it 3D and having the lettering slightly raised. What's happened to the logos on the ECP. I don't know what it is but something about them doesn't look right.
I was thinking about these logos, do you remeber the old original ITV2 logo? Is there a way to recreate something like that perhaps with a wider shape to the itv logo and having it extending upwards rather than across?
