I love this contraption, I was wondering, does this ambi light thing take the majority colour of the screen and use that? Or is it in some signal?

It is processed in the set, and takes the most prevalent colour from the top, bottom and sides of the image, and directs light from colour-changing LEDs on all four sides of the set.

It may look good with the Incredible Hulk, but other than that its a bit of a useless gimmic.

But Phillips are innovators so credit to them for trying something different.

If I'm not mistaken, you can preset a single colour as an ambient light. Much more pleasing on the eye for wall hanging screens.

If I just invented that last bit then I think they should introduce it. They can have it for free.

Multimedia - The combined use of media, such as movies, music, lighting, CD-ROMs, and the Internet, as for education or entertainment.

We're talking about the Ambilight, and seeing multimedia includes lighting... I presume it is. Confused:

Oh please. All you've done recently is moan. Does it really matter that much?

is it a request for ambilight, or a request for information about abilight?

it was the latter.

the requests forum is specifically for multimedia requests - such as images, audio or video. its quite simple. there is no excuse for incorrect forum useage, none.
