Just thought you'd like to know the usually subscription only Broadcast Magazine's website 'Broadcast Now' is available free until next Tuesday, 29th August during the annual Edinburgh festival. More details:

Broadcast has unlocked the door to its Broadcastnow website for the Edinburgh TV Festival weekend, allowing any user to access current news and features and six year's worth of archived information for free.

From 9am this morning (Friday 25 August 2006) the television industry can make use of exclusive content usually reserved for subscribers. This includes dedicated Edinburgh TV festival news and listings plus a host of recent industry news, analysis and comment. There is also a searchable archive that goes back to 1998.

Broadcastnow will return to a subscriber only service on Tuesday.

Damn, I missed it.

What is it with that site being £150 a year. That's way too much, meanwhile media guardian and the likes are free. Don't get it.

Because it's aimed at industry professionals, who will most likely be able to fork out the money or have their business pay for the subscription.
