Graphics looking good so far except for the tiny score bar. IMO the bar needs to be bigger and I would also get rid of the arrows and replace it with the bars as on usual BBC football matches.

Was there any special ident used before the programme - though I sincerely doubt it?

Fraid not. I think the days of a BBC Sport ident are well and truly gone. Crying or Very sad

I like the smaller scorebar, but I have to say the massive writing on the score aston gets a little irritating after a while.

No special idents!

Graphics - as everyone else has said - some seem massive, others seem tiny, but nice overall!

What do you think of the Interactive service? The Freeview one is crap - just the "Your Shout" option at the moment with a shrunken picture to make room for texts and player ratings.

Surely the highlights option should take priority (especially for 5pm games with people coming in from work)!

Yes, won't there be more room on Freeview when the French Open is over!!

They don't get any money from the highlights service.

Wow, has anyone tried the virtual replay thing on the BBC Sport website? Sheer class.

Agree, can't read the clock easily on BBC (even with a 32" set).

Couldn't agree with you less. I watched on Freeview via RGB into a 28" set and the quality was simply superb - noticeably better for having been originated on HD.

The quality is great (on SD)

Exactly. I thought having the clock smaller made it look classier and it was still legible for me. I can imagine that it might have been a tad small on PAL, though, with all those chrominance issues.

The ITV presentation seems far better. A way better scorebar (and a clock I can actually read!), the classy looking host broadcaster graphics and a really nice opening sequence. The Budweiser ads are quite funny as well!

1-0 to ITV so far in the pres stakes for me, but we'll have to wait and see.

I liked ITV's opening titles, basically it was a montage of Previous World Cup's and their respective winners, being backed by a remix of Heroes by David Bowie, something different.

Though I liked ITV's France 98 music better, I've still got the CD somewhere...

I really like the ITV graphics. Why can't they use something more like that for normal games?

Not a remix but actually Kasabian have re-recorded it.

ITV's opening titles are excellent, I was slightly disappointed with the theme tune, I was expecting something a bit punchier. They should have got Muse to record it, they would have produced something amazing.

The single-line name aston looks a bit 'wonky' to me, with the text pushed down to the bottom, leaving a large black space at the top.

That is a pretty special bit of kit!
