Nick Robinson's blog (http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/nickrobinson/) suggests that they've lost power, not just in the studio but across large parts of Westminster.

Interesting apart from a rather vague summary broadcast a few minutes ago that appeared to be commentating on the situation from about 4 hours ago, that's all the mention there is.
Nothing on the ticker - surely that would be a good place to broadcast results and tell people why the programme isn't on at the moment.
And interestingly these "England Polls" are being reffered to as "Mid-term". Good understanding of British politics there.
And all of a sudden Emily Maitlis pops up. Joy.

I don't think I've ever been impressed by Emily Maitlis before, but she's doing an excellent job anchoring some very limited coverage, relying on handwritten bits of paper for the results. Very good indeed.

Damn... chose the wrong hour to have a nap, as usual...
Was about to launch into a long rant about being promised live coverage all night but at 3am they obviously all sod off home and join News 24....
Do they have any generator provision at all at Millbank or is the fact much of the place is actually owned by a separate company that's the problem?
EDIT: Of course, thinking about it a little more, it might be quite interesting to know what the cause of this Westminster-wide power cut was... Could it I wonder, be that the national grid took their eye of the ball and didn't allow for so many people being awake tonight and so didn't put enough electricity into the grid in the first place?
